Lahoris love music reviews. We in Lahore mostly know about three kinds of music – English, Indian & Pakistani.
Lahoris have variety of taste when it comes to talk about music. Lahore is a major urban metropolitan city with large number of educated as well as English medium people. We can find lots of people who have strong liking for western music. Second largest segment is for Indian music, which was always there since the first TV screening of movie ‘Pakeeza’ with Meena Kumari and with its excellent music, which still echoes in many peoples’ minds.
Art has a strange streak; it never recognizes who is enemy or who is a friend. Whatever it feels good to your ear, heart, mind and soul, one feels pulled towards that. Putting the barriers on artistic fields itself is not very justified.
So that is the reason, we may know it or not, just like appreciating nature’s beauty, we also like things which appeal to our hearts & minds.
Music is pure art form – to create good music which can appeal to the mind & soul is not easy. Using the musical skills, either you can create just noise or you can create sweet music. It all depends on the music maker.
Music reviews are a good source to know about the latest music. Despite having dominance by Western & Indian music, it is also heartwarming to know that some Pakistani bands and singers have really come up with lots of talent. Few of them are Strings, Atif Aslam, Ali Azmat, Ali Zafar and Hadiqa Kiani.
It’s quite rare in music industry, that all numbers in an album become hit. Few actually stand out. So this way, music reviews do help to find out which numbers are melodious and which are just noisy.
Music is a combination of three things; melody, rhythm and lyrics. What get registered first are in fact melody, then rhythm and lastly lyrics. But the recipe for successful and memorable music is having all three things right.

Just one day before the last day of 2012, on 30th December, 2012, the residents of Defence Lahore had a great treat when Defence club Lahore in J sector organized an evening with Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.
It was a great show and great performance and a superb response by the defence residents who had assembled in thousands.
The evening was cold & chilly. It was organized in the open but with proper arrangement of fully covered tents and heaters. It went well & comfortable. But the chairs started becoming short in the end since more & more people started pouring in. But overall it was a well organized event.
It is not a part of the blockbuster big banner movie. But this song was made for an Indian Movie Vicky Donar starring Ayshman Khurrana – a talented versatile host, anchor, actor and singer, composer & songwriter.
The song was personally written & composed by Ayushmann and his friend several years (10 years) back in their college days. Since then it remained with them as their very personal memory. Now they had this opportunity to make that memory into a memorable melody for the whole world to listen to.
