Humaima Malick is around 25 years of age as reported early 2013. She is one of the six siblings and only one to take up the route of arts and cinema. She did her marketing graduation from Greenwich University Karachi but turned towards media for modeling and acting. She is an ambitious girl and clear about her direction and passion.
Ten years ago she did her first commercial for designer Deepak Parwani .
Then she furthered her career by appearing in Hum TV serial – ‘Isq, Junoon Deewangi’ and then she also appeared in another Hum TV serial ‘Akbari Asghari’ in the role of Asghari.
She has earned awards and good appreciation in many projects. The most noteworthy of course was her role of Zainab in the film ‘Bol’, by Shoaib Mansoor in 2011, in which she gave a very passionate acting performance, which was not only appreciated locally but in India and Middle East.
Now she is all set and more pitched for big screen cinema.
She has also earned enough financially to build herself her very own home in Karachi. I guess if she had gone for a typical marketing job in a company or corporate she would have been just a a management associate earning around Rs:30000/- a month.
Well that is what the talent is all about and when someone truly connects with it and at the right time. And also one should have the courage to follow that course with commitment. Humaima Malick has shown all that mettle.
She has been now offered new roles in Bollywood projects as well. But she is careful about that as well. After the ‘Bol’ success which was screened & watched in India as well, she was able to get selected in a leading role in Bollywood film ‘Sher’ by Soham Shah. The movie is with Sunjay Dutt, who is playing a role of a gangster, and after his death, his wife (Humaima) handles the empire. The movie is in flashback narrative. It will mostly likely be released this year (2013).
Moreover, she has also been signed for three more Bollywood films with Vidhu Vinod Chopra – famous for 3 Idiots, Parineeta, & Munnabhai.
She is also now open for the international cinema roles. Currently, she is experimenting with Iranian cinema with some roles, and also learning Persian for those roles.
Film ‘Bol’ has earned her many awards – Asian Film Awards in London, Lux Syle awards, and South Asian Rising Star Awards.
Humaima Malick definitely is talented lady with style and most importantly with passion and commitment to succeed and make her name locally and internationally.
